Savills appointed as project manager for new ST Engineering facility

Vincent Lau, senior director and head of project management at Savills Singapore, has announced that the firm has been appointed to consult on the design and development of a new $170 million airframe maintenance facility by Singapore-listed engineering group ST Engineering.

As the consultant project manager, Savills will coordinate closely with ST Engineering across the entire project life cycle, from due diligence, design, procurement, and construction of the new facility until its completion. The new facility will be located at Changi Creek, and measure 904,176 sq ft in size, having four hangar bays that can service widebody aircraft such as hybrid paint and maintenance bay, with the first hangar bay expected to be ready by mid-2025 and the remaining three by 2026.

Lau went on to highlight the importance of the project in terms of recent industry trends, noting how the construction and real estate markets have experienced a positive rise in leasing volume between the second quarter of 2020 and 2021. He emphasised that the appointment of Savills for the project is indicative of that, as well as the elevated standards of trust clients continue to place in the firm.
