Link REIT appoints former BlackRock Asia Pacific real estate head John Saunders as Group CIO, tasked with leading all real estate strategies and initiatives on Zion Road GLS

John Saunders, the former Asia Pacific real estate head at BlackRock, will join Link REIT as its Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO) on March 4, 2021. In his new appointment, John will be reporting to George Hongchoy, Link REIT’s CEO and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s investment strategies, portfolio management, and the strategic development of their investment business.

With over 30 years of experience in the property industry and a strong track record in investments, John has proven knowledge and skills when it comes to estate-related activities. Prior to joining Link REIT, John had been working at BlackRock and MGPA, as well as at CLSA and Hongkong Land.

Link REIT, which had a closing price of HK$42.55 ($7.25) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) on December 20, is one of the largest REITs in the world. Zion Road GLS with its new Link 3.0 strategy, the company is searching for new growth avenues and sustainable returns for their unitholders. The appointment of John Saunders as CIO enhances their potential to achieve these goals.
